Barn Angels Composting is a founder-led Ontario company providing compassionate, professional and environmentally responsible animal aftercare.
We support families, farms, veterinary clinics, rescues, sanctuaries, municipalities, and animal care professionals through some of the most difficult moments they face. From beloved family companions and horses to livestock, wildlife, exotics and specialty species, every animal entrusted to our care is treated with dignity, respect and professionalism.
Barn Angels was built on the belief that aftercare should never feel cold, confusing or transactional. When an animal passes, the people who loved and cared for them deserve clear guidance, reliable service and a team that truly understands the emotional weight of that moment.
Founder Led From the Beginning
Barn Angels was founded by husband-and-wife team Wesley and Amelia, but our lives with animals began long before Barn Angels ever had a name.
Between the two of us, we have spent our lives immersed in animal care—from horses and veterinary medicine to rescue, rehabilitation, surrender, rehoming and end-of-life care.
We didn’t enter animal aftercare from the outside looking in. We came to it after a lifetime spent living almost every side of animal care.
Those experiences shaped not only why Barn Angels was created, but the standard of care we continue to expect from ourselves today.
Our Approach
Every call is different. Some families are preparing for a planned goodbye, while others are facing a sudden loss. Some calls come from veterinary teams supporting a client, while others come from farms, rescues, municipalities, or facilities managing difficult circumstances.
Our team is here to make the process as calm and clear as possible. We guide clients through the next steps, answer questions, coordinate aftercare, and provide support without pressure. We understand that these moments can feel overwhelming, and we take pride in being steady, respectful, and dependable when people need us most.
Our Environmental Commitment
Environmental responsibility is at the core of Barn Angels. We believe animal aftercare can honour both the animal and the earth, which is why our work is built around sustainable practices, conservation support, and a commitment to giving back to the land.
Through our composting program, finished soil is used to support conservation and restoration projects. We are also committed to planting a tree for every animal we pick up, creating something meaningful from loss while contributing to healthier forests, stronger ecosystems, and a more sustainable future.
Barn Angels is committed to continuing to operate as a carbon neutral business. As we grow, we continue to look for responsible ways to reduce our environmental impact, support restoration projects, and make choices that align with our values as a company.
